Whether you migrated yourself, come from an immigrant family, or carry migration stories across generations, the experience of leaving home, losing home, carrying home, and finding home again can profoundly shape how we move through the world.
Migration may be driven by opportunity, education, family, survival, displacement, war, or countless other circumstances. While every story is unique, many share common themes of courage, grief, hope, cultural negotiation, and resilience.
This Brainspotting Phase 2 training provides the complete Phase 2 curriculum while offering an affinity-based learning environment for clinicians whose lives, families, communities, or clinical work have been shaped by migration.
Participants will deepen their understanding and application of advanced Brainspotting techniques while exploring the emotional, relational, cultural, and intergenerational experiences that often accompany migration.
Throughout the training, participants will review and strengthen their use of foundational Brainspotting approaches while learning advanced Phase 2 techniques, including One-Eye Brainspotting, Z-Axis (Three-Dimensional) Brainspotting, Convergence Therapy, Rolling Brainspotting, and Combined Inside-Outside Brainspotting.
Emphasis will be placed on attunement, nervous system regulation, attachment, identity, belonging, grief, resilience, and the ways migration experiences may emerge in the Brainspotting process.
Through PowerPoint presentations, discussion and Q&A, live demonstrations, and experiential practicums, participants will have opportunities to both learn and apply Phase 2 Brainspotting skills while reflecting on the personal and professional impact of migration narratives.
Together, we will explore how experiences of displacement, adaptation, cultural identity, intergenerational resilience, and the search for home may be held within the nervous system and emerge during the Brainspotting process.
This affinity space welcomes first-generation and multigenerational migrants, immigrants, refugees, and anyone whose life has been shaped by migration across countries, cultures, or continents.
It is also open to clinicians from all backgrounds who feel connected to these experiences personally or through the populations they serve.
Prerequisite: Completion of Brainspotting Phase 1
Open to clinicians taking Phase 2 for the first time, or
